This song is kinda country sounding, and if you know me, you know that I'm very strongly against country.
It all sounds the same to me, and I can't stand it when people sing with that twangy voice. It sets my teeth on edge. But I think this has to be one of the cutest songs ever.
So here's me. Posting a country song. Just this one time.
I'd have to say this is one of my new favorites. Phillip Phillips and those awesome harmonies just give me the shivers. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.
Recently I've gotten into the habit of listening to hymns :)
"Greatest Hymns" by Selah has been my top album of choice so far.
"Be Thou My Vision" is by far my favorite hymn of all time.
Here it is as sung by Selah:
AH!!!!!!!! I've fallen way behind on these journal posts! I apologize!
Life suddenly got rather busy as I prepare to leave for Michigan for a wedding this weekend!
That's Megan and me :D :D
She and her fiance, Elijah, are getting married after knowing each other for less than a year!
Is that not so adorable and romantic?!
A lot of my CP friends are going to be there, and it's just going to be a really spectacular weekend!
I watched Peter Furler's latest music video last night, and it gave me goosebumps!!!
so so cool :D
I'm really hoping that once I get home from MI, I can restart doing those journal entries!
Yeah, I'm a band.
Fuzzy Bunnies In The Pool.
Oh, I can feel how jealous you are now. ;)
We worked on a cover for the original version of this song.
I would watch the first one all the way through if you haven't heard it yet.
Please enjoy our awesomeness and share it with all your friends, acquaintances, and strangers you meet in the grocery store.
It's Valentine's Day.
Do I have a sweetheart to spend it with?
Mmmm that depends.
I have my Savior.
And HE is my first love.
He loves me and He saved me and is looking out for me.
Why on earth would I need a man?!
Don't get me wrong...I do still want to be married someday.
But for now I'm gonna be content to be a God girl.
I want to bubble over and talk about how amazing the love of my life is.
I'm His and that's enough.
He's my love and my heart is HIS!
Happy Valentine's Day :)
Be content in the only One who satisfies.
This song pretty much sums up what I've tried to convey up there. :D
I'm sorry for the loooooooooong silence on here.
I was kinda waiting to see if anyone was going to make a video of all the pictures and videos from California. (which was the best weekend of my LIFE!)
I think I might wait and see a little longer :)
So here's a really good song to keep you company and keep you patient until the time comes.
This song always gets me in the gut if you know what I'm saying.
I hope you like it half as much as I do.
Two worlds, one of classical music and one of African culture, come together to make this amazing video.
My sister's heritage is from Africa.
Classical music is without a doubt my favorite genre of music.
This video is breathtaking.
Please watch it!
Tears can be sad......and happy.
They can come from being overjoyed or overwhelmed.
A welling up and over of emotion these little drops are.
Sometimes it can be good to cry, and other times embarrassing.
I experienced a little bit of all of this last night during Bible study.
A song I had never heard before really struck home.
I felt like it had been written just for me.
It washed over me with feelings of remorse and joyfulness; guilt and gratitude.
Salvation is a wonderful, mysterious, joyous thing.
Why me? Why a rebellious sinful little girl like me?
I may never know why God placed me in the family I'm in, the country where I live, the people and circumstances I grew up with.
But what I do know is that HE DID SAVE ME.
And I'm forever grateful.
What a wonderful Christmas this has been.
And it isn't even over yet. :)
It's been celebrated with my wonderful family and friends.
I'm so thankful for everything my Savior has given me.
This year I'm especially thankful for the gift of salvation.
It's become so very precious and real to me.
Thank you, Jesus, that You came to earth to die for sinners like me. Thank you that you came so that you may suffer in this world of sin WITHOUT sin, and that you are ever interceding for us. May I continue to grow in my knowledge of you.
I hope y'all are having a wonderful CHRISTmas season.
Here's one of my favorite Christmas songs ever.
May God be glorified in everything!
If you've read my blog even for a short period of time, you know that I LOVE The Piano Guys.
Well, a while ago, they made an announcement that they were going to make a CELLO WARS video.
And I was just a wee bit excited :D
So I've been waiting and waiting for this video to come out.
IT'S FINALLY HEEEEEEEERE!!!
It's even cooler than I thought it would be!
Without further ado............The Piano Guys presents Cello Wars!!!!!!!!
It's snowing at my house.
Yuck.
I'm all for the prettiness of snow. Who doesn't love that?
But it's pretty for the first day.
Then you go out in it.
It's cold.
It's wet.
It's cold.
It gets everywhere.
It's cold.
It gets muddy and gross.
It's co-
You get the picture.
But I still have to give a shout out to Christmas music.
I get more and more excited with every song I hear.
I grew up listening to Michael W. Smith Christmas music more than any other artist.
Listening to his Christmas albums each year brings back a lot of really fond memories.
I got to go see his Christmas concert last year with my parents.
It was UNBELIEVABLE!!
This song is one of my absolute favorites.
Music like this is my favorite. It's so beautiful :)
Enjoy. (and if you live down south be so very thankful that you live where the snow never comes)
It's FINALLY time to brush the dust off all your Christmas albums and rock out to some of the best music out there!!
I was especially excited when Michael Buble came out with a Christmas album this year.
He's my favorite :)
I'm hoping to post a bunch of my all time favorite Christmas carols (and maybe some which aren't so carol-like) in the upcoming weeks.
I've had this song stuck in my head for the past three days :P
I'm sure it'll be stuck in yours too after you listen to it.
So
You're welcome!
Love,
Katie :)
P.S.: Two of my college friends are now courting!!!!!!!! SO happy for them!!
I've often posted videos of The Piano Guys.
My brothers and I like to refer to them as the Sickly Talented Guys.
Each video progressively gets better and more impressive.
Enjoy!
This post has some serious and some fun.
Hence, serious fun. >.<
Kind of like this puppy.
He looks SO serious, but he makes me giggle.
Serious first....
My VERY dear friend Ruthiey wrote this post yesterday, and I was just floored.
Ok...now for the fun :D
Last night, my friend Lindsey were sitting in her car and chatting after class.
We had the radio on and the song "Haven't Met You Yet" by Michael Buble came on.
Being the silly little girls we are, we blared it and sang at the top of our lungs.
If you've never heard it before, well, you need to!!!
Click here to listen to it....this music video is AWESOME!
Hello to all my devoted blog readers!! :D
I'm sorry this has been such a silent place lately.
Work has been tying me up, and hopefully this week will allow me to be a better blogger.
I heard this song for the first time this week and the lyrics just absolutely blew me away.
They really hold a special meaning for me.
The song is "Let It All Out" by Relient K.
God has us go through hard times for a reason.
Through those hard times, God wants us to "Let It ALL Out" to Him.
Cry out to Him.
He will hold you.
He has a reason.
TRUST.HIM.
I'll post the lyrics here so you can read them and meditate on them.
(and of course I'll post the song too.)
Let it all out
Get it all out
Rip it out remove it
Don't be alarmed
When the wound begins to bleed
Cause we're so scared to find out
What this life's all about
So scared we're going to lose it
Not knowing all along
That's exactly what we need
And today I will trust you with the confidence
Of a man who's never known defeat
But tomorrow, upon hearing what I did
I will stare at you in disbelief
Oh, inconsistent me
Crying out for consistency
[Chorus:]
And you said I know that this will hurt
But if I don't break your heart then things will just get worse
If the burden seems too much to bear
Remember
The end will justify the pain it took to get us there
And I'll let it be known
At times I have shown
Signs of all my weakness
But somewhere in me
There is strength
And you promise me
That you believe
In time I will defeat this
Cause somewhere in me
There is strength
And today I will trust you with the confidence
Of a man who's never known defeat
And I'll try my best to just forget
That that man isn't me
Reach out to me
Make my heart brand new
Every beat will be for you
For you
And I know you know
You touched my life
When you touched my heavy heart and made it light
